The fluid Opteon 2P50 is a proprietary hydrofluoroolefin announced on 2023-08; the commercial path has been qualification-led rather than volume-led. Samsung Electronics qualified the fluid after roughly a year of testing using a 48U commercial-scale immersion tank with Liquid Stack and PKI Corporation, and 2CRSi qualified it in current-generation servers before signing a Joint Development Agreement on 2026-02-24.
