Spirit AI develops Moz humanoid robots and has deployed a fleet at CATL’s battery facility, where the robots perform industrial connector-insertion and testing work.
Spirit AI (Hangzhou, also known as Qianxun) makes the Xiaomo (Moz) humanoid, which is in regular production operation at CATL's Luoyang plant doing high-precision battery-connector insertion and end-of-line testing at skilled-worker pace, a task-focused design that deliberately avoids complex five-finger hands. It is CATL-affiliated (Borui Capital, a CATL co-founder, backs it), raised ~RMB 1.3B/$185M across three rounds since 2024, and represents the deepest verified single-customer humanoid deployment in China outside auto plants. That single-customer concentration is the whole story so far.
