GAC Group (Guangzhou Automobile Group) is a large state-owned Chinese automaker whose EV subsidiary GAC AION is a lead OEM partner in China's robotaxi push and which also develops the in-house GoMate humanoid robot. On robotaxi it runs a 50/50 JV with DiDi Autonomous Driving (Guangzhou Andi Technology) that delivered the mass-produced R2 robotaxi at the GAC AION plant on Jan-23-2026 and secured road-test permits in Guangzhou and Beijing, and it also supplies Pony.ai's Gen-7 platform. Tonly invented and leads the Chinese wide-body off-road mining truck category and has become the volume channel through which autonomy reaches Chinese mines. The 2026 story is internationalisation and a large domestic order: H1 2026 overseas revenue rose 45.15 percent to RMB 714 million at 20.11 percent of revenue, and on 2026-07-16 Tonly signed a framework with contractor Xinjiang Hanxiang for 800 autonomous mining trucks.
